HIBUALAMO TRADITIONAL HOUSE - The Hibualamo was inaugurated in April 2007 and functions as a place where traditional ceremonies and meetings take place. It is found in the center of the town. Arhitecturally, the building has the traditional octagonal Halmaheran floor-plan, with doors opening to all four direction. This symbolises both the fact that guests arriving from anywhere are welcome the Hibualamo and the reconciliation and unity among the people of North Halmahera.
PACA LAKE - Paca Lake next to the village of Talaga Paca offers beautiful views of pristine nature. It has a backdrop of forested hills and is a pleasant place for picnicking, fishing and conoeing. A nearby cliff offers good views of the lake and its surroundings. For the local people the lake is an important source of drinking water and fish. They have also built a covered picnic shelter on stilts over the water and you can buy simple snacks from a nearby stall.
PITU BEACH - 530 metres long, shallow Pitu Beach widens to 50 metres at low tide. This is a popular time to visit this black sand beach to play sport like beach volleyball or soccer. There are no dangerous currrent here so this is a good beach to bring kids to swim. There are also several small island to visit here. The waters at Pitu offer a rich diversity of marine life to divers, too.
SOSOL BEACH AND TOSIMARU SHIP WRECK - Sosol beach is the main tourist attraction in Malifut district. This 1 km long black sand beach is free of strong currents and becomes very wide at low tide. A unique attraction here is the wreck of Tosimaru, a WW II Japanese cargo ship, visible from far away.
